Cross-Disability Early Intervention Centres for Children with Disabilities
Early childhood (0-6 yrs) is a time of remarkable brain development. It is the critical period that determine a persons’s ability to reach her/his lifelong health, social and economic potential. Providing quality early childhood intervention early in a child’s life supports them to develop the skills needed to enable him to lead an independent and dignified life. Early Intevention provides specialized support and services for infants and young children at – risk or with disability and/or development delay and their families to help their development, well-being and participation in family and community life. CDEIC is fully functional at CRC Bhopal since June 2021. The aim is to provide a cross-disability, composite multi-functional facility for therapeutic interventions to help reduce the disability burden and also counsel the parents under one roof. It is also to prepare the children for school readiness which is crucial for inclusive education.
Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDKs)
With an endeavour to enhance the outreach the benefit of ADIP and RVY schemes of Govt. of India for providing free of Cost Aids & Assistive devices to Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) and Sr. Citizens, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India has decided to open centres in every 100 KM radius of the Country so that the benefit of Assistive Devices can be made available to the eligible beneficiary nearer to his or her door step with minimum waiting time. ALIMCO, in compliance of above instruction Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) have started a Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDK) at CRC Bhopal to offer following Services :
- Free distribution of Aids and Appliances Devices to eligible Divyangjan & Sr. Citizen under the scheme of Govt. Of India.
- Prosthesis & Orthosis Fitment.
- Audiometry room for assessing hearing loss with the provision of providing free of Cost Digital and Digital Programmable Hearing Aids and subsequent training to already fitted user.
