Long Term Course

The trained and qualified human resource remains a major obstacle despite the enormous efforts of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). So far, the number of Rehabilitation Professionals/personnel under various disabilities registered with RCI is around 28 thousand. For an estimated disability population of 1.85 percent (NSSO 2002), the available human resources in India are infinitely small. In addition, rehabilitation professionals have to work under at least one to one relationship for the initial period of rehabilitation which exposes the inadequacy of the immediate need.
